There is an ignorance firstly that we live in a democracy and Secondly (and more important) a total ignorance of democracy and what that is (or means). Yes it is concrete in democracy that all people should be treated equally. However we live in a constitution republic that is a capitalistic meritocracy. This automatically places those who are wealthier and more accomplished into a populous movement which demonizes any fair treatment. In other words two systems working antithetically as the meritocracy sets about as to consume any democracy as mear entertainment.
